Care Meals is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
Our Commitment
As an NDIS platform, we understand that many of our users have disabilities. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us — it is a fundamental design principle that guides every feature we build.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. This means our platform is designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.

Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
Every feature on our platform can be accessed using only a keyboard. Tab through interactive elements, use Enter or Space to activate them, and press Escape to close overlays.
Screen Reader Support
All content is structured with semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions so screen readers can accurately convey the page content and interactive states.
Minimum 18px Font Size
We use a minimum base font size of 18px across the entire platform. Text is set in readable, high-legibility typefaces (Plus Jakarta Sans and Inter).
48px Minimum Touch Targets
All buttons, links, and interactive elements meet a minimum 48x48 pixel touch target size, making the platform easy to use on touchscreen devices.
Visible Focus Indicators
A clear, high-contrast focus ring appears on every interactive element when navigated via keyboard, ensuring you always know where you are on the page.
Responsive Design
The platform works on all screen sizes and devices. Content reflows gracefully and can be zoomed to 200% without loss of functionality.
Accessibility Toggles
Use the accessibility button (Aa) in the site header to customise your experience. All settings are saved automatically and persist across sessions.
Large Text Mode
Increases the base font size from 18px to 22px or 26px, making all text larger and easier to read.
High Contrast Mode
Increases contrast ratios to 7:1 or higher (WCAG AAA level), using pure black text on white backgrounds with reinforced borders and focus indicators.
Easy Read Mode
Increases line spacing, letter spacing, and limits paragraph width to 65 characters for improved readability. Designed for users with cognitive or reading difficulties.

Assistive Technologies
Our platform is tested with popular assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android). We aim to support the latest versions of these tools.
Browser Support
We support the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The platform is also compatible with system-level accessibility features like high contrast mode, reduced motion preferences, and text scaling.
Ongoing Improvements
We regularly audit our platform for accessibility issues and prioritise fixes. If you encounter any barriers, we want to hear about it so we can address them promptly.
